The infection of bacteria or viruses in the Liver cells causing inflammation is called Hepatitis According to Ayurveda “CHARAK SANHITA” Says that there are three types of Hepatitis:
Kos-Tha-Shrit Kam-al-a (Hepatitis A)
HEPATITIS A is the bacterial infection of the Liver. It Spreads primarily through fecal Contamination of food and water. It is Communicable disease which is transfered from one infected person another normal person by pathogens.
SYMPTOMS :
(a) Loss of appetite
(b) Nausea on the sight of food and occasional vomiting
(c) Right hypochondrial abdominal pain
(d) Pale yellowish discolouration of skin and eyes
(e) Fever COMPLICATION
:- Rare chances of cirrhosis of liver LAB REPORTS:
1) Presence of bile salt and bile pigment in urine
2) Increase in level of SGPT; bilirubin and alkaline phosphate in blood TREATMENT:
It is curable within short period of time

Sa-kha-shrit Kam-al-a (Hepatitis B)
HEPATITIS B is the acute viral infection of the Liver. It is generally transmitted through blood contacts and body fluids contacts like transmissions of blood, by contaminated needles; sexual activities and from infection mother to new born babies. In some cases; in spite of having the disease; patients shows no symptoms related to it; and are called as carriers of the HBV (Hepatitis B Virus)
SYMPTOMS :………….
(a) Severe loss of appetite
(b) Nausea and vomiting
(c) sever fever
(d) Dehydration of body and signs of anemia
(e) Abdominal pain
(f) Dark yellowish discolouration of skin
COMPLICATION:-
Cirrhosis of liver and some times it coverts in to Hepato-carcinoma( Liver cancer)

1) Increase in Level of SGPT; Bilirubin and alkaline phosphate; in blood
2) Positive Australia Antigen (HBsAg)

Kum-bha Kam-al-a (Hepatitis C)
HEPATITIS C is the viral infection of HCV (Hepatitis C Virus) It Is the Chronic and long lasting and communicable disease It spreads through blood contacts. This causes immunity deficiency in the body
SYMPTOMS : – STAGE I
(a) The patient suffers from physical weakness for a long period of time
(b) Loss of appetite
(c) Anaemia
(d) Flu like fever
(e) Allergic reactions in the from of allergic cold – asthma and urticaria
STAGE II
a) Sudden feeling of shivering for a while
b) Sudden feeling of shivering, with time; duration and intensity of shivering increases
